Research Engineer for Data Products

What you'll be doing"
They have immediate need for a Research Engineer to join their Data Products team. The Research Engineer will be responsible for the in-house research and development of strategic data products.
He/she will analyze signals collected by their Internet of Things platform and customize remote tracking units to create innovative applications. A strong technical background is expected, and successful applicants will also exhibit leadership and organizational skills.
Gain deep knowledge about connected vehicles to be able to program and troubleshoot GPS trackers and Engine Control Unit (ECU) data loggers.
Collect, analyze, cleanse, and verify data sets, enriching them with third party sources
Propose innovative ways to extract information from connected vehicles and design experiments to assess their effectiveness on the field
Envision new, customer-focused applications based on data from connected vehicles
Support other teams on selected projects with training or ad-hoc analysis.
Keep up-to-date with latest technology trends and contribute to key innovation initiatives, publish and patent innovative technology.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
Degree in Electronic engineering, Automation engineering, Computer Science
Excellent technical skills with 2+ years programming experience in C, C++, Python, or any other common language
2+ years hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting IoT devices, with a preference for GPS trackers and Engine Control Unit (ECU) data loggers.
Excellent problem-solving and algorithmic design skills
Familiar with Unix/Linux environments
Familiar with scientific research, able to read a scientific paper and extract the main ideas
Results oriented with a demonstrated track record of successful delivery
Even better if you have:
Familiar with agile software development methodologies and tools
Experience with Big Data Analytics tools (Hadoop, Spark or similar).
Experience applying statistical analysis to validate business hypotheses
