Job Description:

The roles are within the Avionic Systems – Systems Engineering team, which is part of the Technical Disciplines Group within the Engineering Directorate.

Avionic System Engineering is the focal point in the Engineering Department for the definition, development, integration, and certification of avionics systems, such as displays, aircraft sensor systems, communication and navigation systems, vehicle monitoring systems, mission systems, role equipments, and flight data recorders.

The Avionics System Engineer interfaces with all engineering functions, including software engineering, airframe and systems engineering, electrical engineering, electromagnetic compatibility, advanced diagnostics, airworthiness,



chief projects offices (CPE), experimental department, flight test engineering (FTE), and external entities like program management, procurement, production plants, flight line, and customer support.

The responsibilities of the Avionics System Engineer include:

1. Capturing, allocating, deriving, validating, and verifying avionics system requirements, and defining architecture based on customer operational and certification requirements.
2. Defining electro-avionics design and integration through functional schematics and subsystem interface control documents for aircraft installation drawings.
3. Developing system-level requirements for software components.
4. Managing the system development lifecycle, including requirements reviews, design reviews, software requirements reviews, test readiness, flight clearance, and final qualification reviews. Preparing presentations and leading/supporting technical design reviews.
5. Preparing detailed equipment and system specifications, statements of work, and monitoring supplier development and qualification activities.
6.



Preparing and executing bench and aircraft test procedures for avionics systems, participating in aircraft trials, including off-site test ranges.
7. Preparing certification documentation such as design reports, test plans and reports, analysis, qualification, and compliance reports.
8. Managing external suppliers technically.
9. Supporting production and customer support through troubleshooting and aircraft test execution.
10. Liaising with customers and internal/external stakeholders.
11. Supporting bid activities with potential customers.

Job Requirements:

- University degree or equivalent in a technical field such as electronics, telecommunications, automation, computer science, nuclear, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, or other scientific disciplines.




- Desired knowledge of systems engineering tools like IBM Rational DOORS and model-based system engineering approaches (e.g., UML/SysML).
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.
