Project Manager – Space Equipment (Milano)

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Equipment’s Business Unit.

The role involves managing development, qualification, production, and R&D; projects related to space equipment, working in a highly regulated and technologically advanced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, execute, and control space equipment projects, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, technical, and quality requirements.
- Define and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and baselines.
- Monitor project performance, milestones, deliverables, costs, and risks.
- Act as the main programmatic interface with institutional customers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and participate in project and program reviews.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including Engineering, MAIT, Procurement, Quality, and Finance.
- Support supplier coordination from a project management perspective.
- Manage changes and assess their impact on project objectives.
- Contribute to internal and co-funded R&D; projects and to continuous improvement activities.

Required Profile





- Master’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronic, or equivalent).
- 3–5 years of experience in Project or Program Management within the space, defense, or regulated high-tech sectors.
- Experience with complex hardware development projects.
- Familiarity with institutional customers (e.g. ESA, Space Agencies, Prime Contractors).
- Knowledge of project management principles (planning, cost control, risk management).
- Understanding of the space equipment’s lifecycle and ECSS standards.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix and multidisciplinary environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Italian is a plus.

Nice to Have

- Project Management certifications (PMP®, PRINCE2®, IPMA).
- Experience on ESA or European institutional programs.
- Knowledge of project control tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, ERP systems).
