Overview

Advisory Manager – Operations Banking, specialism Digital Payments, at PwC Advisory. Responsible for leading projects aimed at designing and launching new payment services, regulatory compliance, business model redesign, and exploring emerging technologies such as Digital Euro and AI tokenization. Responsibilities

Design and launch new payment services from concept to go-live, including market analysis, operational models and technology roadmaps. Support clients through regulatory pathways (PSD2, Open Banking, Open Finance, IMEL, IP, Instant Payments Regulation). Redefine business models and operating models, identify improvement areas and redesign organisational structures. Drive the evolution, modernisation and efficiency of payment systems through coherent strategies aligned with market developments. Explore innovation trends (AI, tokenisation, digital wallets) and integrate them into client strategies. Lead work‑streams independently, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to professional growth within the team. Qualifications





At least five years of experience in consulting or within payments and financial services. Degree in engineering, economics or related fields. Fluent spoken and written English for international client engagements. Ability to translate complex topics into strategic vision and concrete action plans, leading teams to measurable results. Experience managing complex projects and multiple parallel work‑streams in payments domains. Familiarity with emerging topics such as Digital Euro, Instant Payments Regulation and European regulatory frameworks. Experience defining commercial offers and developing new business lines in payments. Leadership skills, ability to motivate people and build strong client relationships and manage senior stakeholders. Willingness to travel within Italy and, occasionally, abroad.
