In this role you support welding development and qualification for structural railway components, applying MIG, TIG and FSW techniques. You will ensure compliance with EN 15085, ISO 3834 and other quality standards, while guiding automotive considerations for production sites. You collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise welding parameters and define inspection plans. You drive root‑cause analyses and continuous improvement to ensure robust, compliant welds in rail and aluminium environments. Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or related field Certified Welding Engineer qualification (IWE/EWE) Strong hands‑on welding experience (MIG, TIG, FSW), preferably in rail or aluminium Knowledge of railway welding standards and quality requirements Understanding of aluminium materials (6xxx alloys) and manufacturing processes Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams Fluent English; German or French advantageous
