You will contribute to both local and international projects, including high‑speed rail and metro systems in the UK, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and California, as well as mining and energy‑infrastructure developments. The wide variety of project work, combined with internal research opportunities, provides an excellent environment to further develop technical skills in both mechanised and traditional tunnelling, and to support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects. /p h3As a Tunnel Engineer At Arup, You Will /h3 ul liTake ownership of design packages /li liWork directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision /li liCo‑ordinate work with engineers of other disciplines /li liProduce project‑related correspondence and reports /li liProvide design calculations and support preparation and review of deliverables /li /ul h3About /h3 pWe’re looking for a Tunnel Engineer who is passionate about challenging design problems and with an interest in innovation and optimisation. We also value:



/p ul liBEng in Civil Engineering or a BSc in Geological Sciences supplemented by an MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering/Soil Mechanics or Structural Engineering /li liWorking knowledge of industry standard software for tunnelling, geotechnical and structural design /li liUp to 5 years geotechnical and tunnelling design experience in a consultancy environment /li liAble to demonstrate strong engineering skills and knowledge /li liProven success in contributing to a team‑oriented environment /li liAble to work independently with minimum supervision /li liExcellent planning, organisational and time management skills /li liExcellent communications skills (both written and verbal) /li liHighly motivated and willing to take on new challenges /li liPublication in journals and conferences is encouraged /li liFluent in Italian and English /li /ul h3Why Arup? /h3 pAt Arup, we believe in rewarding our members for their contributions to our shared success.
