The JRC Local Informatics Security Officer (LISO) with in the directorate JRC. T (Digital Transformation, AI and Data), in partnership with other Commission services and stakeholders, has among his responsibilities to ensure that, in JRC, adequate security measures are in place and operational for the information systems and their supporting IT infrastructures, enabling the successful implementation of the Commission's Digital Transformation and EU policies. The Commission's adopted comprehensive standards on Information Systems Security, established through Decision 2017/46, mandate that all critical information receives appropriate protection levels consistently across the European Commission. These standards require that suitable security controls are systematically identified and integrated into Commission Information Systems. To support the JRC System Owners and IT service providers effectively implement these requirements,



the LISO requires specialized technical expertise a Cybersecurity Architect to provide assistance to verify the level of implementation of the above objective within JRC and more particularly to perform security evaluations of JRC Information systems through security posture review and technical advisory. Description of the tasks Assistance with technical advisory assessing JRC systems and underlying infrastructure from an architectural perspective and recommend design‐level improvements Security assessment of Information Systems and underlying infrastructure working with developers and system managers to verify correct implementation of security controls and identify potential vulnerabilities Reporting of security‐evaluation findings and advisory outputs producing periodic reports (executive summary, technical detail) on the level of implementation of security objectives across JRC systems Preparation of ad‐hoc technical advice to the JRC LISO and system owners on emerging threats and mitigation strategies Interaction with system developers
