About us:
Capsule Corporation is developing WaterCube , a modular water-based propulsion system for CubeSats and SmallSats. Backed by ESA BIC , CDP Venture Capital , NATO DIANA and Takeoff Accelerator , we are preparing our first in-orbit demonstration in Q4 2026.

Capsule Corporation s.r.l. is offering an exciting Master’s thesis or curricular internship opportunity for a highly motivated engineering student to optimize the thermo-mechanical behaviour of components in our WaterCube space propulsion system. This position provides the chance to develop skills in thermal FEM analyses and contribute directly to cutting-edge space propulsion technology.

This role does not necessarily require previous experience in the aerospace industry. Whether your background is in automotive, energy, mechanical engineering, or a related field, if you want to contribute to scalable,



sustainable space transportation, we want to hear from you

What you will do:
- Conduct thermo-mechanical simulations to analyse and optimise the thermal performance of WaterCube components (e.g., vaporization cell, nozzle, flow control valves).
- Evaluate the effects of different operating power conditions on system thermal performance.
- Collaborate with the design team to propose iterative design improvements.
- Validate thermal results with experimental data from testing campaigns.
- Support design reviews with institutional (ESA, ASI, Universities) and private stakeholders.
- Clearly document and present designs at various stages of completion.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Near-graduate Master’s student in Aerospace, Mechanical, Energy Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and heat transfer.
