Prototype Workshop Manager
In the R&D; department of Aptar, you will work under the supervision of the GSD Beauty Simulation Fast Prototyping Senior Manager to develop prototyping tools and pilot equipment. Your role is to support design teams in early technical risk mitigation, transform concepts into testable parts, and help define pilot molds during project development. You will collaborate closely with Product Designers, Industrial Engineering, and external suppliers, ensuring a smooth transition from prototypes to pilot production and final manufacturing molds.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Product Designers to convert drawings into testable parts, selecting the most suitable prototyping methods (e.g., 3D printing, fast tooling) to accelerate development.
- Support internal prototyping activities, including simple equipment requests and production of basic mechanically machined components.
- Identify design risks in mold development and suggest simple improvements for product manufacturability, applying basic knowledge of mold design principles.




- Supervise suppliers during pilot mold fabrication, verifying timing and quality aspects.
- Collaborate with Industrial Engineering and external suppliers to ensure a smooth hand‑off from prototypes to pilot stages and subsequently to production molds.
- Prepare clear CAD models and technical drawings needed for constructing pilot mold parts.
- Execute basic injection‑molding simulations after internal training to support early product validation, in collaboration with external suppliers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
- Advanced knowledge of technical drawing and CAD systems (2D and 3D).
- Basic knowledge of CAM systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical working processes, injection molding, and modern prototyping technologies.
- Curiosity, experimentation drive, and interest in exploring innovative technical solutions.
