As a Java UI Developer, you’ll join our collaborative Java Framework team, contributing to Simcenter STAR-CCM+ by building and evolving the Java-based client infrastructure across API and UI layers, working in close partnership with our Core Framework colleagues. /p pYou care deeply about clean, modular design, long-term maintainability, and user experience, and you’re confident suggesting improvements that elevate both code and collaboration. You’ll contribute thoughtfully to a shared codebase used by a global community of over 300 developers, balancing attention to detail with the confidence to evolve and enhance existing solutions. /p pIf you’re energised by innovation, collaboration, and the opportunity to grow your impact in a supportive, diverse environment, we’d love to hear from you! /p h3You'll make a difference by: /h3 ul liDesigning, documenting and building robust, extensible software. /li liImplementing new features and refactoring existing code in Java client of Simcenter STAR-CCM+. /li liCollaborating closely with colleagues through tools like Jira, Confluence, Git and Bitbucket. /li liJoining forces with our UX and vertical teams to craft efficient user workflows. /li liThriving with a modern IDE in a large, distributed environment. /li liWorking together through peer-based design and code reviews.
/li liBuilding and maintaining automated unit and integration tests. /li liNavigating an extensive code base: hundreds of modules and millions of lines. /li liTraveling occasionally to collaborate in person. /li /ul h3Your success is grounded in: /h3 ul liDegree or commensurate experience in computer science, engineering or mathematics with 3+ years of post‑academic experience in software design and development. /li liExpertise in crafting client‑server, desktop products for Linux and Windows. /li liStrong knowledge of the Java language, including modern features. /li liExperience developing Java clients in Swing/NetBeans (the framework, not the IDE) or a similar framework. /li liApplication development with large‑scale datasets and detailed performance and quality requirements. /li liHandling large, legacy code bases. /li liUsing a distributed version control system such as Git. /li liIssue management using Jira or a comparable system. /li liAbility to communicate sophisticated technical issues clearly and concisely. /li /ul h3Highly Desirable: /h3 ul liExperience with developing a scientific or engineering software application. /li liExperience working in a distributed team across multiple time zones. /li liProgramming in modern C++. /li liProgramming web applications. /li liExpertise in Physics and Mathematics. /li /ul h3Join our Digital World /h3 pAt Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work – hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy. The applicable salary ranges for these locations are: /p ul liItaly: 49,000 - 81,100 /li liGreece: 32,100 – 64,200 /li liSpain: 52,100 - 83,300 /li /ul pThis role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
