BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT In April 2026, the Security Information Analysis Unit (SECIA) initiated a transformation pathway which fundamentally changed ways of working, reporting lines and expected outputs. Under the new twotier operating model, all Security Information Analysts now report directly to the Head of Security Information Analysis and contribute to globally managed workstreams and priorities.

The Volunteer

Assistant will support SECIA in accompanying this transformation process by helping strengthen coordination, product development, knowledge management and team management arrangements across the unit. The assignment will provide practical exposure to organizational transformation, analytical product development, information management and the application of digital tools within an international humanitarian organization.

DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the Global Head of Analysis, the WFP Volunteer will:

Support the review and refinement of analytical outputs produced across SECIA, helping to align individual products and deliverables with divisional priorities, unit workplans and agree standards.





Assist with the implementation of unit-level transformation initiatives by tracking actions, supporting coordination efforts and helping maintain documentation related to new ways of working.

Support the development and application of a consistent corporate "look and feel" across analytical products, presentations, briefing materials and other outputs produced by the Security Information Analysis Unit.

Provide administrative support to team management activities, including maintaining unit calendars, tracking key meetings and supporting internal coordination processes.

Maintain visibility of expertise hubs, thematic workstreams and areas of specialist knowledge within the unit, helping identify potential opportunities for collaboration and cross-team engagement.

Support the exploration and application of AI-enabled tools and other digital solutions in collaboration with the Business Transformation Unit to improve workflows, efficiency and product development.

Assist with the organization and maintenance of reference materials, guidance documents and other internal resources that support the work of SECIA.

Contribute to the preparation of presentations, briefing materials and internal communications related to ongoing unit activities and transformation initiatives.

Attend team meetings where appropriate and assist with note-taking, action tracking and ollow-up of agreed activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES By the end of the assignment, the WFP Volunteer will have:

Contributed to the implementation of SECIA transformation initiatives.

Supported improved coordination and visibility across global analytical workstreams.

Assisted in the development of a more consistent presentation and branding approach for SECIA analytical products.

Supported the integration of digital and AI-enabled solutions within selected unit activities.

Gained practical experience in organizational transformation, information management, product development and team coordination within an international humanitarian environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education: Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a university programme in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Intelligence Analysis, Data Analysis, Geography, Humanitarian Affairs, Journalism or a related field.

Experience

Previous academic or practical experience conducting research, information gathering, reporting or analytical work is desirable.

Experience working with spreadsheets, presentations and document preparation tools is an asset.

Knowledge & Skills:

Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Good written communication and drafting skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to organize information and manage multiple activities simultaneously.





Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Interest in organizational transformation, innovation and digital solutions.

Languages: Be fluent in English (level C) in required. Fluency in other WFP official and working languages is an asset.
