The Client:
Our client is undisclosed. They are a global group operating in the diagnostics industry, with a complex international footprint and a broad transformation agenda involving enterprise platforms, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, process digitalization, advanced analytics and the future use of data and AI across the company.
Position – The role:
Given the current context, the Client needs to rapidly onboard a new Corporate Chief Information Officer (CIO) to ensure continuity of leadership across the Group IT organization. Reporting to the Chief Information & Digital Officer (CIDO) and coordinating a team of about 80 resources plus externals, the CIO will ensure reliable, secure and scalable enterprise technology services across all geographies.
The CIO will act as a business-oriented technology leader , combining operational excellence with the ability to build consensus, establish trust across the organization and promote a strong customer-focused culture.
The goal will be to ensure that technology becomes a practical accelerator of business performance by delivering reliable global services, supporting business continuity, enabling enterprise transformation programmes and ensuring that employees and business functions across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, R&D;, Commercial Operations, Customer Service, Quality Systems, Finance, HR and Corporate Functions can rely on effective technology platforms to execute their work. Acting as the execution partner of the CIDO, the
CIO will translate business priorities into scalable, sustainable and cost-effective technology solutions, while supporting the Company's broader technology transformation agenda.
Position – Specific responsibilities:
- Act as a Senior Business Partner of key business stakeholders, establishing trust across the organization, understanding business priorities and complexities, and ensuring that technology solutions effectively support the Company's strategic objectives.
- Lead the Global IT Operations backbone of the Group, ensuring that infrastructure at large , including network, hosting, service desk, end user services, cloud operations and global site IT are stable, secure, scalable and cost-effective . Guarantee high service availability, business continuity, disaster recovery readiness, performance management and global service standardization.
- Interact with the CIDO organisation with collaborative, proactive behaviours.
- Manage, maintain and evolve Group's Enterprise Technology and Applications landscape:
- will own the delivery, maintenance and evolution of SAP, ERP systems , enterprise applications, corporate platforms,
CRM and commercial applications, manufacturing systems and integration platforms;
- will drive application rationalization, standardization and lifecycle management , reduce unnecessary complexity while strengthen integration across platforms;
- will lead the execution of major IT transformation programmes , including SAP deployments, ERP harmonization, infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, platform consolidation and enterprise system upgrades, ensuring delivery quality, budget control, timelines and business adoption.
- Work proactively with senior business leaders across all functions, translating business priorities into practical technology solutions and ensuring alignment with the broader strategy led by the CIDO.
- In partnership with the CISO (who is directly reporting to the role), ensure that cybersecurity , resilience and compliance requirements are embedded across infrastructure, applications, cloud operations, service management and transformation programmes. Manage IT operational risks and oversee IT audit remediation activities.
- Manage strategic relationships with software vendors , infrastructure providers, managed service partners, system integrators and cloud providers, ensuring effective contract management, service quality, vendor governance, strategic sourcing decisions and cost optimization.
- Establish and maintain the IT governance across the global organization of the group, by defining IT policies, architecture standards, service management processes, technology roadmaps, IT financial management and resource planning, ensuring alignment between business priorities and enterprise technology execution.
Position – Critical priorities:
- Maintain the credibility of the IT organization as a trusted business partner, while further evolving its operating model in line with the Company's broader technology transformation roadmap. Continue to modernize the technology foundation, creating a scalable and resilient environment capable of supporting future business growth.
- Take ownership from inception of two strategic multi-million-euro enterprise transformation programmes , delivering them with strong execution discipline, in collaboration with leading external suppliers.
The initiatives include the transformation of the Company's Oracle environment to SAP in the US, and the implementation of a new global MES - Manufacturing Execution System, both representing critical enablers of the Group's future Operating Model.
- Together with the leadership team and the CIDO, contribute building the organizational and technology capabilities required to enable the Company's long-term digital, data and AI ambitions.
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 20 years’ of progressively increasing IT leadership responsibility. Proven experience leading international IT organizations within complex multinational environments.
Either a Senior Director with the readiness to move for a professional scale up to a global CIO role; or a CIO yet managing a less complex organisation.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex ERP transformation programmes and managing global infrastructure and enterprise application environments.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise applications, cloud technologies, cybersecurity and IT governance.
- Proven experience managing multi-million-euro IT budgets and strategic technology partners.

- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities , with the ability to translate business priorities into practical technology solutions that create measurable business value.
- Pragmatic execution leadership style , combining operational excellence, execution discipline and sound business judgement.
- Ability to lead change effectively while fostering collaboration across global, multicultural environments.
- Fluency in Italian and English are both a must.
- Location: metropolitan area of Turin and/or Milan, and remote.
Job – This is a permanent full-time Executive job, in a highly dynamic context. Initial Salary range will be in between EUR 150,000 - 170,000 plus Premio, Benefits and LTI, in line with Client commitment to transparent and equitable compensation practices.
