Organizational Setting
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) leads international efforts to defeat hunger and to achieve food security for all. The FAO Regular Volunteer Programme invites volunteers to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO’s Strategic Framework to accelerate the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agri‑food systems for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind.
Reporting Lines
The volunteer will report to an assigned supervisor.
Technical Focus
The volunteer will be assigned to a field relevant to the mission and work of FAO.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Perform functions as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office.
Qualifications
Completed secondary school education.
Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Knowledge of a second FAO language considered an asset.
Nationality: FAO Member State.
Age 18 or older.
Adaptability to an international multicultural environment and good communication skills.
Relevant working or research experience in one of FAO’s fields.
