Sourcing Commodity Manager – Optics TransceiversWe are seeking a motivated Sourcing Commodity Manager for Optics Transceivers to join Cisco Global Supplier Management (GSM). This role collaborates with cross‑functional teams and suppliers, engaging early in technology sensing and sourcing across Cisco engineering teams to support hardware design and product roadmaps. The manager will lead roadmap reviews between engineering and suppliers, identify solutions, create proposals, and implement actions to balance supply continuity, cost, and delivery to meet business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide industry knowledge and understanding of optics transceiver fabrication technologies and market trends (cost, technology, supply‑chain design, etc.).
- Collaborate with Business Unit partners to understand long‑term requirements, map requirements into supply‑base offering, close roadmap gaps, and facilitate optimal component selection.
- Implement sourcing decisions, assess and mitigate risks, and develop alternate technical solutions.
- Manage large,



complex programs across multiple locations and Business Units.
- Act as a self‑starter, independently resolve large‑scale project issues and manage partner concerns within Cisco as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
- MS or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience (combination of engineering design and business strategy).
- Technical knowledge of optics transceivers for both single‑mode and multi‑mode applications.
- Deep knowledge of key components and optics transceiver ecosystem (laser, photodiode, TIA, driver, CDR/DSPs).
- Proficiency in negotiation, ensuring competitive advantage and high satisfaction for Cisco’s customers.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in silicon and optics transceiver technology/ecosystem.
- Extensive business strategy and implementation knowledge.
- Technical and business‑related problem‑solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication and relationship‑management skills.
