Helpdesk Support Engineer A consultancy client is supporting a leading organisation within the airport, postal and industrial automation sector and are looking for a Helpdesk Support Engineer to join their team in Genoa. This role will provide first-line and remote support for operational automation environments, working closely with technical and engineering teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and system availability is maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Provide remote and onsite helpdesk support for industrial automation systems.
Manage and prioritise support tickets through to resolution.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and operational issues within automation environments.
Escalate and coordinate incidents with specialist technical and engineering teams.
Monitor system performance and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, actions and resolutions.
Support operational continuity within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Participate in an on‑call rota (approximately one week per month).




Required Skills & Experiencence
Previous experience in a Helpdesk, Service Desk or Technical Support role.
Experience supporting industrial automation systems, manufacturing systems, logistics automation, airport baggage handling, postal automation, warehouse automation or similar operational technology (OT) environments.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Experience managing support tickets and coordinating with multiple technical teams.
Good understanding of IT infrastructure, networks and system support.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Good standard of spoken and written Italian and English.
Desirable Experience
