Overview
Language Specialist – Japanese/English (12-Month Contract) at Prime Video Japan Localization Operations. The role focuses on reviewing language assets for logic, coherence, grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, language usage, and formatting to improve the customer streaming experience through language solutions and process-centered approaches. Tasks may include proofreading and editing AI-generated content, including subtitles, metadata, and other language assets.
Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated localized content — including subtitles, dubbed audio, metadata, and artwork — to identify errors in translation accuracy, linguistic quality, and cultural appropriateness.
- Assist in the development and implementation of language-related technology/products to ensure consistency and quality of Japanese and English language services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand language requirements and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices,
and technological advancements in language services, particularly related to streaming and the entertainment industry.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of language processes and workflows to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's Japanese and English language capabilities.
- Provide guidance and training to other team members on Japanese and English language-related matters, sharing expertise and knowledge.
Basic Qualifications
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make complex investigative decisions with minimal guidance

- Demonstrated expertise in delivering high-quality Japanese and English language services, including translation, interpretation, and linguistic support
