Legal & Compliance Operation Expert – Reading (UK)
We are looking for a Legal & Compliance Operation Expert for HQ in Reading, UK.
Accountabilities
Leadership – Operate in support of the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer's function.
Support to national and international Bids – Review, draft, negotiate and interpret bids, identify and assess contractual and other legal risks, propose mitigations, advise on compliance, and collate required corporate documentation.
Support to national and international contracts – Draft, review, interpret and negotiate sales contracts, working in support of the CLCO.
Support procurement contracts – Develop procurement contracts that ensure compliance and implement appropriate risk‐management practices, in support of the CLCO.
Internal Operations – Coordinate outcomes within the CL&CO; domain.
External Operations – Interface with other departments to ensure consistency between the JV organization and CL&CO; outcomes.
Disputes and Litigation – Investigate, manage claims and prosecutions, collate documentation, manage disputes through all stages,



including instruction of external legal service providers.
Training and tools – Support the implementation of continuous improvement.
Relationships and best‐practice sharing – Coordinate and share best practice across the function and with legal teams in subsidiaries, maintaining high‐quality relationships with Legal & Compliance teams in LSIs and LSSIs.
Qualifications
University degree in Law, Business Administration, Political Science or equivalent.
Broad international business experience and relevant technical skills.
Understanding of the defence industry and UK, Japanese or Italian government operations.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
Experience operating in an in‐house international environment and high‐value complex contracting.
Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Experience drafting, negotiating and advising on high‐value commercial transa
