You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command of NAVFAC ROICC Sigonella, Italy. Duties Support the management and administration of complex and challenging construction projects. Provide technical advice and training to the team in matters of construction management, quality assurance, testing of critical systems, and safety. Review and enforce contractor's quality control program to assure adherence to contract requirements. Administer the Construction Quality Management program on all projects and provide construction contract technical support to the on‐site management team. Participate in Partnering sessions, depending on the nature and scope of the construction contract. Use initiative, resourcefulness and sound judgment to provide advice,
solutions and assist construction engineers or engineering technicians on technical matters requiring extensive knowledge of engineering practices and construction methods. Qualifications At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS‐11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service, or equivalent private or public sector experience. Experience reviewing technical engineering specifications, drawings and statements of work covering complex and diverse engineering designs or changes for constructability and accuracy. Experience monitoring construction projects to a safe, successful, and timely completion. Experience collaborating in a teamed construction setting, coordinating stakeholder interests at all levels in a partnered environment. Experience managing project activities to reduce quality, schedule, safety, compliance and cost risk. Overarching experience in evaluating and assuring the Quality Control (QC) programs of construction contractors meet NAVFAC standards in accordance with guiding documents.
