European Investmement Bank (EIB) is the European Union's bank. It works in support of EU development and economic cooperation policies by financing investment in both public and private sectors. The EIB is seeking to recruit for its Representation in Cairo, Egypt, a Water Sector Expert. This is a full-time position.
The term of this contract will be 3 years based in the EIB Office in Cairo.

Purpose
You will contribute to the preparation, appraisal, and monitoring of the technical, operational and environmental aspects of capital investment projects and programmes in accordance with EIB procedures mainly in Egypt and Jordan. Operations will be predominantly in the water and wastewater sector,



as well as in the broader water resources area but you may occasionally need to complement teams in other sectors.
Operating network
You will be based in the EIB's Regional Hub for North Africa and the Near East in Cairo, will functionally report to the Head of the Water division, and work in close contact with the other professional staff of the Division, other PJ Departments and other Bank directorates. Operational and technical guidance will be provided by the Head of Division in Luxembourg as well as by the relevant senior team members following the Egypt and Regional portfolio (Jordan, West Bank and Gaza, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia), with growing responsibility over time. You will report to the Head of the Cairo Hub for administrative and institutional matters.
