Own advanced antenna and passive RF design for space and SatCom applications, with remote flexibility in Italy and hands‑on hardware development
We are working with a specialist RF and microwave engineering company based in Umbria, Italy, that is developing advanced antenna and RF technologies for Space, SatCom and Avionics applications. They are looking for a Senior RF Antenna Engineer to support the design, simulation, optimisation and validation of passive antenna and RF technologies across satellite communication, aerospace and RF system projects.
This role would ideally suit someone based within commuting distance of Umbria, as regular on‑site presence is preferred due to the hardware, lab and testing nature of the work. That said, remote options within Italy can also be considered for the right person.
Design, analysis and optimisation of antenna systems for Space, SatCom and avionics applications.
Work across planar and waveguide technologies, including microstrip, stripline and waveguide‑based designs.
Support development across relevant frequency bands, potentially including UHF,



L‑band, S‑band, X‑band, Ku‑band and Ka‑band.
Use EM simulation tools to model, optimise and troubleshoot antenna/RF performance.
Support RF testing and characterisation, including antenna measurements, near‑field/far‑field testing and lab‑based validation.
Work closely with mechanical, systems and RF colleagues to ensure designs meet electrical, environmental and project requirements.
Contribute to technical reviews, customer‑facing project discussions and design documentation.
The successful Senior RF Antenna Engineer will have:
Experience of RF antenna design.
Experience with phased array antenna design would be highly valuable.
Experience with planar antenna technologies, waveguide structures, RF transitions, combiners/splitters or beamforming networks.
Strong EM simulation capability, ideally with tools such as Ansys HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, AWR or similar.
