Overview
Energy Jobline is supporting a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced HRB / WOL Factory Shop Inspector to oversee manufacturing quality and inspection activities for corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) cladded materials and equipment.
The role will focus on monitoring fabrication processes and ensuring cladding systems meet project specifications, international standards, and material selection requirements.
The Role
Reporting to the Project QA/QC Manager or Deck Yard QC Superintendent, the HRB / WOL Factory Shop Inspector will provide technical oversight during the manufacturing and fabrication of CRA-protected equipment.
The position involves monitoring Hot Roll Bonded (HRB) plate production at the mill and Weld Overlay (WOL) cladding applications within fabrication shops, ensuring compliance with approved manufacturing procedures and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor HRB plate manufacturing processes including assembly of backing steel and CRA cladding materials




- Verify mill heating and rolling parameters comply with approved manufacturing procedures
- Witness ultrasonic testing of bonded interfaces to confirm compliance with applicable standards
- Inspect CRA surfaces following rolling operations to identify defects such as cracks, pits, or delamination
- Review welding procedures and qualifications related to weld overlay cladding applications
- Monitor welding parameters to control dilution levels and maintain required CRA properties
- Ensure interpass temperature controls are maintained during overlay welding activities
- Verify minimum cladding thickness requirements are achieved in accordance with engineering specifications
- Witness testing activities including PMI verification, hardness testing, corrosion testing, and dye penetrant inspection
- Ensure traceability between material certificates, heat numbers, and fabricated components
