ppThe Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History in Rome (BHMPI) is one of several institutes of the Max Planck Society (MPG) e.V. and a leading international centre for art history research. /p pWe are looking for a full‑time employee to support our IT department as soon as possible. /p pThe Bibliotheca Hertziana operates a complex IT infrastructure with its own data centre and a mixed system architecture for the administration of over 100 employees. You will support the head of the IT department in all areas of system administration and user support. /p pKnowledge in the following areas of responsibility is required: /p h3Server and System Administration /h3 ul liAdministration and maintenance of bMicrosoft Windows Servers /b and bActive Directory /b /li liManagement and operation of bMicrosoft Exchange Server (version 2019) /b /li liConfiguration and administration of bLinux servers /b, preferably bUbuntu /b or bDebian /b /li liMaintenance and administration of bbackup systems /b (e.g., Veeam, Tivoli, Synology Active Backup) /li liAdministration of bfirewall systems /b (e.g., Watchguard, OPNsense) /li /ul h3Virtualization and Containerization /h3 ul liOperation and administration of bVMware environments /b /li liDeployment and management of bDocker containers /b on Linux servers /li /ul h3Network Administration /h3 ul liStrong knowledge of bnetwork technologies /b, preferably with a bCisco certification /b /li liConfiguration and administration of bLayer 3 networks /b /li /ul h3Client Management /h3 ul liInstallation, configuration,
and support of bMicrosoft Windows clients /b and bApple macOS systems /b /li /ul h3Security and Architecture /h3 ul liManagement and development of bsecure system architectures /b and bIT infrastructures /b /li /ul h3Desired Additional Skills /h3 ul liExperience in bmigrating on‑premise infrastructures /b (Active Directory, Exchange) to bMicrosoft 365 / Office 365 /b /li libProgramming skills /b in at least one high‑level programming language /li liGood knowledge of bPowerShell /b and bBash scripting /b /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liUniversity degree in computer science or a related field, or completed vocational training as an electronics technician for information technology, IT assistant, IT specialist or similar. /li liSeveral years of professional experience. /li liVery good written and spoken English and Italian; German skills desirable. /li liAbility to work in a team and commitment, resilience, service orientation and a communicative and friendly manner. /li /ul pIf you meet the personal requirements, you will be offered a salary up to TVöD EG 12 with corresponding foreign allowances in accordance with the special provision § 45 BT‑V to TVöD and social benefits as in the public sector (federal government) or a contract for local employees in accordance with the conditions of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Rome.
