ph3Job Description /h3pHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated Network Planning Design Engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The position is based in Genoa, Italy. /ph3Mission /h3pTo work on design and project implementation tasks of Telecommunication Systems such as radio (GSM‑R), Multi Service Network (IP, MPLS, SDH), Telephone System, Voice Recording System, Master Clock, Fiber Optic backbone and Public Information System. /ph3Accountabilities /h3ulliDesign the network architecture to fulfil the contractual requirements. /liliDevelop technical design documentation for communication projects. /liliSupplier management: purchase technical specification preparation, supplier assessment, periodical meetings, verification of the design documentation prepared by the supplier, supervision of the site activities carried out by the supplier (site survey, test and commissioning, site acceptance test and site integration test). /liliInterfaces management: manage formally the related interfaces with all project team members. /liliContract requirements management. /liliLiaise with engineering team, bidding, sales, procurement, supply chain, project management for completion of every phase of the bids and projects. /liliDevelop a high‑level bill of material defining the typology, the model and the HW/SW configuration, including the requested network management systems. /liliPerform test and commissioning of the IP networks. /liliPerform IP network troubleshooting on site and remotely. /liliMaintain an open action items list and produce effective reporting.



/li /ulh3Required skills/knowledge/experience /h3ulliKnowledge of IP networking: LAN WAN, layer 2 and layer 3. /liliBasic capacity to configure network equipment layer 2 and layer 3 (Cisco). /liliBasic capacity to perform IP network troubleshooting on site and remotely. /liliKnowledge of backbone transmission systems: IP/MPLS, MPLS/TP and SDH. /liliKnowledge of the principles of Radio Transmission Systems. /liliKnowledge of the principles of optical fibre communication. /liliAt least 3 years experience in the role. /li /ulh3Desired skills/knowledge /h3ulliBasic knowledge of VoIP telephone systems. /liliBasic knowledge of Radio Systems: WiFi. /liliBasic knowledge of Master Clock Systems. /liliBasic knowledge of Voice recording System. /liliBasic knowledge in AutoCAD design. /li /ulh3Education / Qualification /h3pMaster's Degree (Engineering). Education/Qualifications Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
