Deputy Director, CSI Digital FAO and Agro-Informatics Division

As Deputy Director, CSI, you will help shape and deliver the FAO Digital Workplace strategy within the Global Corporate IT Services portfolio. You will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate global IT projects, and provide strategic and technical leadership for the division. Your work supports secure, cross-border access to digital resources for staff worldwide while driving modernization and digital transformation. This role offers high-impact collaboration across units and external partners, with a focus on results-based delivery and budget stewardship.

- Lead daily delivery of FAO Digital Workplace and related services (ERP ecosystem, collaboration platforms, meetings/events, and web platforms)
- Steer portfolio of Corporate IT projects, including modernization and digital transformation initiatives
- Provide strategic-technical leadership, governance, and quality control for the Division's programme and budget
- Oversee financial and human resources, and manage cross-divisional work under the IT/Digital Strategy
- Advise on IT strategies, standards, and organizational impact;
mentor Unit Leaders andmonitor results
- Promote collaboration within and across teams;
ensure fit-for-purpose,value-for-money IT services
- Support recruitment, staff development,



and capacity-building strategies
- Foster partnerships with FAO, international/national organizations, and the private sector
- Represent the Organization in internal/external meetings;
act as Officer-in-Charge when needed
- Perform other duties as required
- Advanced University degree in management or information technology management, as well as computer science or information systems
- Minimum twelve years of relevant ICT management and operational experience in large organizations
- Experience delivering complex IT projects in a global and decentralized context
- Understanding of digital economy and transformation in agrifood systems and rural development
- Proven leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration experience
- Budgetary oversight and results management experience
- Strong negotiation, diplomacy, and analytical communication skills
- Experience managing large teams and working under tight deadlines
- Ability to work in a multicultural international setting
- Working knowledge of English and proficiency in another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
