The successful candidate will work in the Rolling Stock Engineering Department and may be based in Pistoia or Napoli – IT.AccountabilitiesPrepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS) for mechanical componentsAnalyze and assess technical documentation from suppliersPrepare and verify mechanical installation/integration drawings/specificationsConduct design reviews (internal and with suppliers) under the supervision of Engineering Managers and Project EngineersAttend system stand‑alone type tests and review type test reportsSupport manufacturing, testing and validation phasesReview design documentation with customers and suppliersPrepare structural drawings (carbody shell, bogie frames, mechanical components)Prepare equipment layout and mechanical routing drawingsPrepare Bill of Materials (BoM)Ensure compliance with input requirements, international railway regulations, standards and project constraints (time, cost, quality)Prepare documentation required for vehicle approval and support homologation phaseRequired Skills / Knowledge3–5 years of experience in the railway sector or complex industrial environmentsGood knowledge of main railway regulations and standardsExperience with IBM DOORS requirements management toolFamiliarity with engineering processes and railway operationsStrong mechanical discipline knowledge (installation, interfaces, component design, etc.)Knowledge of design verification and validation methodologiesProficiency with mechanical CAD systems (Catia or Creo preferred)Understanding of piping systems,
fittings and joint design methodologiesExperience with noise/vibration modelling and assessment of mechanical componentsKnowledge of welded structure design rules and standards (EN 15085)Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill preferred)Proficiency with office automation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced, international and multicultural environmentStrong planning and organizational skills, team‑working and problem‑solving mindsetAbility to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers, partners, customers)Ability to work within project teams under minimum supervisionAvailability for occasional short‑term national and international business tripsDesired Skills / KnowledgeKnowledge of railway vehicle running dynamics performance assessmentFast learner with strong willingness to stay up‑to‑date with technological developmentsGood business acumen combined with solid technical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsEducation / QualificationsMaster's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical disciplines mandatory).LanguagesKnowledge of written and spoken English (at least B2 level).BenefitsRetribuzione annua lorda compresa tra 36.000 € e 46.000 €.Alla posizione si applica il vigente CCNL per l’industria metalmeccanica privata e l’installazione di impianti, con inquadramento nel livello B2, ai sensi della relativa disciplina di classificazione del personale.Equal Opportunity EmployerAt Hitachi Rail, there is a place for everyone.
