Job Overview: /strong /pp
The Constructability Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the construction execution on site by influencing the Engineering design.
They solve complex problems and use their discipline-specific knowledge to improve the construction execution on site.
The Constructability Engineer impacts the construction execution ensuring the work can be completed by site teams safely, on time and within work hour budgets while meeting Quality requirements. /ppbr/ppstrong
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: /strong /pulli
Coordinate with the Completions Manager on discipline activity /lili
Coordinate with Site QA/QC Manager on final inspection and punch list, red-line drawings to show as-build conditions; perform engineering activities to develop/complete design; prepare/answer Request for Information and Field Work Order Requests /lili
Supervise the Site Document Management Department and ensure that project personnel adhere to correspondence and filing system guidelines /lili
Facilitate preparation of drawings for special construction equipment, scaffolds, workstations, and construction aids /lili
Arrange for procurement, fabrication, and installation of the required items /lili
Manage Engineering support on the site through the Project Manager at the home office /lili
There will be specific times that Engineering support will be required on the site to assist in acceptance or checkout /lili
Manage all correspondence concerning questions or issues between Engineering and Construction through a Request for Information (RFI) system for document tracking and control /lili
Close out all RFIs and incorporate them into the turnover systems for care and custody of the Client /lili
Capture progress daily in Work Face Planning software from information provided by Foremen/General Foremen /lili
Analyze daily progress and schedule performance /lili
Conduct weekly planning meetings with their Superintendents to determine work to be executed in the upcoming three weeks /lili
Generate weekly work plans on an IWP level with General Foremen/Superintendents’ direct input and record them in the Work Face Planning system /lili
Request material by submitting WRFIs by IWP to material management before the execution date and track material delivery /lili
Interface with the Construction Supervisor, Project Controls, and subcontractors to facilitate updates to the 3 WLA and WWP /lili
Record and communicate Lessons Learned captured on IWPs /li /ulpbr/ppstrong
Essential Qualifications and Education: /strong /pulli
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent /lili5 to years of experience in construction /lili
Moderate knowledge of MDR construction procedures, progress systems, material management systems, document management, and timekeeping systems /lili
Knowledge of MS Office skills, specifically with Excel, and Access /lili
Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines, troubleshoot, and resolve issues /lili
Respected for uncompromising integrity, work ethic, and professionalism /lili
Energetic with a positive and enthusiastic disposition, possessing a can-do attitude /lili
