Position Summary
The
Quality Operations Manager
is responsible for leading all operational quality activities within the aluminum foundry, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, internal standards, and automotive quality systems.
The role has direct responsibility for
Product Audits, Process Audits, the Metallurgical Laboratory, and the Metrology Laboratory
, ensuring product conformity, process capability, and the reliability of quality control systems.
The position acts as a key interface between Quality, Production, Foundry Operations, Engineering, and Customers, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all quality operations activities across the foundry, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Define and deploy quality objectives, performance indicators, and improvement plans aligned with plant and business targets.
Support the Quality Manager in achieving customer satisfaction and continuous improvement objectives.
Manage Product Audit activities to verify compliance with customer specifications, engineering standards, and internal requirements.
Lead Process Audit programs to ensure adherence to standardized work, control plans, and process parameters.
Analyze audit results, identify systemic weaknesses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor the effectiveness of improvement actions and drive sustainable problem resolution.
Lead all activities performed by the Metallurgical Laboratory, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of testing and analysis activities.
Support root cause analysis and failure investigations related to material and metallurgical issues.
Ensure compliance with metallurgical standards, customer specifications, and laboratory procedures.
Lead the Metrology Laboratory, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of dimensional verification processes.
Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities using structured methodologies.
Support customer complaint investigations and corrective action implementation.
Promote preventive quality initiatives aimed at reducing defects, scrap, and process variability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process capability and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
5-7 years of experience in similar role.
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Science).
Experience in quality operations roles within complex industrial environments.
Experience with product and process audits and quality laboratories.
Experience within the foundry industry is considered a plus.
Native Italian and
English proficiency at B2 level
or above.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
