In this role you will define and architect DC-DC systems for MCU products and MCU-based systems, conducting system simulations and quantifying block-level specs. You will ensure architecture meets requirements before and after tape-out, while collaborating with system architects, marketing, and design teams. The position combines hands‑on analog/digital interaction with leadership and mentorship in a fast‑paced environment. This is a chance to shape high‑performance power solutions for edge MCU platforms at NXP in Catania.
Responsibilities and Benefits
- Define, architect and DC‑DC systems for MCU products and MCU-based systems
- Perform system simulations of DC‑DC systems
- Quantify block‑level specifications for implementation
- Quantify implementation impairments in overall system performance
- Ensure architecture and implementation meet system requirements pre‑ and post‑silicon
- Collaborate with system architects and marketing to develop power solutions for MCU products
- Define innovative DC‑DC switcher architectures (buck, buck‑boost, boost; capacitive converters possible)
- Simulate DC‑DC switcher architectures including digital control and analog impairments (MATLAB, Simplis or equivalents)
- Possibly perform block‑level analog design including layout oversight, review and sign‑off
- Work with analog and digital designers to ensure requirements are met before and after tape‑out
- Mentorship and development of junior engineers
Qualifications
- 10+ years of product development experience including switch‑mode power supplies design and architecture
- Master's degree in electronic engineering
- Strong and effective communication and teamwork skills
