We are looking for a PV Engineer to support our fast‑growing Italian activities.
The Junior PV Developer will join the Development team, reporting to the Head of Development.
The Junior PV Developer manages and optimises the development of assigned projects (greenfield and/or partially developed) until a fully developed project achieves Ready to Build status within agreed timelines and budgets.
The Junior PV Developer plays an active part in the project, working closely with the development team, then with the construction team, coordinating the management of the project.
The Junior PV Engineer will:
- Identify and assess PV development opportunities for the Italian market.
- Be part of due diligence activities to facilitate valuations.
- Develop technical solutions required for projects during the local permitting process (Autocad, QGIS, PVSYST).
- Secure Grid Conditions and a Grid Connection Agreement with the connecting utility.
- Secure relevant permits for the project (Environmental Permit, Building Permit, etc.) until achievement of Ready to Build status.
- Manage the overall development process from project identification to construction.
- Manage external consultants, lawyers and stakeholders (such as Municipality, County Administrative Board, Authorities, local associations, residents and landowners).
- Be up to date with relevant legislation.
- Be up to date with the market in general and particularly any surrounding projects to your projects.
- Always act in a professional way and be an ambassador for GENERALE DU SOLAIRE.
The Junior PV Developer should be a team player with a delivery‑oriented mindset that can handle parallel workstreams while managing a time plan. She/he should have an adaptable mindset,
strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to build relationships due to ever‑changing conditions and the need to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
She/he must be efficient with time management, autonomous in attitude, and capable of operating across the company in the most appropriate way.
Transversal missions
In addition to project‑related activities and business development activities, the employee shall be involved in some transversal missions contributing to the global success of the GDS group:
- Continuous improvement of development tools and processes.
- Continuous improvement of internal skills, sharing good practices in project development, contribution to the training of new employees.
- Contribution to competitive intelligence and general strategy.
Qualifications
- Student in Electrical/Energy/Industrial Engineering looking for an end‑of‑study internship.
- Strong knowledge of solar projects and PV equipment (their interactions within a system, grid connections, etc.).
- Adaptability, strong problem‑solving ability and skill in building relationships due to ever‑changing conditions and the need to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Quality‑oriented, able to monitor outputs in all phases of the projects.
- Team player, able to work across different teams within the company.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Fluent in Italian and English; French would be a plus.
