For our client operating in the food manufacturing industry in Rome, we are looking for
SITE OPERATIONS HRBP
The Site Operations HRBP supports the business in strategic HR decisions, ensuring alignment between operational needs (meal production, logistics, food safety) and HR policies.
The role works closely with operational stakeholders (production, operations, logistics, quality) within a fast-paced, regulated environment focused on service punctuality and safety.
Key responsabilities:
Act as the main HR point of contact for managers across production, kitchen, packing, and logistics areas
Support line managers in the day-to-day management of employees, including 24/7 shifts, seasonal peaks, and absenteeism
Translate operational business needs into effective HR solutions
Oversee a large operational workforce including production staff, packers and warehouse operators
Monitor and analyze HR KPIs such as turnover, absenteeism, overtime, and productivity
Support workforce planning and headcount forecasting activities
Manage relationships with trade unions and employee representatives
Support disciplinary processes and employee relations cases
Coordinate recruitment activities for both operational and staff roles
Manage onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with airport security, HACCP, and company procedures
Identify training needs and coordinate mandatory training programs (e.g. food safety, health & safety, operational procedures)
Support internal development and career progression initiatives (e.g. team leader development)




Assist managers in performance management processes and promote a culture of continuous feedback and improvement
Ensure compliance with labor law, health & safety regulations
Collaborate with HSE and Quality teams to maintain high standards
Support organizational changes, including restructures, new production lines, and HR systems implementation
Requirements:
Degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or related fields
At least 5 years of HR experience within industrial, manufacturing, food production, or similarly complex operational environments
Proven experience as HR Business Partner or HR Generalist in fast-paced, operational settings with shift-based workforces
Knowledge of labor law and industrial relations, including interaction with trade unions
Solid experience managing large operational populations and supporting line managers on day-to-day HR topics
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
Hands-on, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented mindset
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR metrics and KPIs
Willingness to travel within the country
Willingness to travel in the future for career development purposes is desirable but not essential
Experience with workforce planning tools is considered a plus
Good knowledge of English
