ph3Role Overview /h3pThe Installation Survey Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering survey activities that support the engineering and installation of submarine cable projects.
The role covers the full survey lifecycle, from scope definition and subcontractor management through to data review, reporting, and project close-out.
This position also contributes to route engineering, installation support, technical software development, and knowledge sharing within the Engineering Department.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, survey subcontractors, and project teams to ensure that survey deliverables are completed to the required quality, schedule, and budget.
/ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ulliDefine and develop the survey scope of work in line with project requirements /liliManage survey subcontractors throughout the full survey lifecycle, including engineering, operational planning, mobilisation, offshore execution, on-site supervision when required, reporting, and charting /liliMonitor survey quality, progress, and costs to ensure alignment with project objectives /liliSupport cable route design and detailed engineering related to cable installation and protection /liliReview, manage, and organize survey documentation and data for submission to the Employer or final Client /liliContribute to the overall performance and results of the Engineering Department through close cooperation with colleagues and stakeholders /liliPrepare and maintain forward planning of survey activities, including schedules, workload, and resource coordination /liliEvaluate survey subcontractor tenders and support the selection of the most technically suitable and commercially effective solution /liliSupport the management and development of engineering software and digital tools, including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, GIS Online, and other relevant platforms /liliContribute to engineering activities during project execution, including data analysis, route engineering, burial assessment studies, selection of suitable burial tools, and evaluation of burial tool performance based on track records and/or numerical analysis /liliMaintain up-to-date knowledge of survey methods, equipment, software, and industry best practices /liliOrganise workshops and targeted training sessions to strengthen survey knowledge and awareness across Company personnel,



particularly Installation technicians /liliSupport the Innovation team in developing innovative solutions and verify test and in field experience/test /li /ulh3Candidate Profile /h3ulliFluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages are considered an advantage /liliA master's degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline /liliA solid understanding of energy infrastructure and/or offshore environments /liliBasic knowledge of geophysical survey tools and survey methodologies /liliProficiency in GIS software, which is considered essential for the role /liliStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams /liliSound decision-making ability, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills /liliA collaborative, results-oriented mindset with the ambition to contribute to continuous improvement and project success /liliA highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, effectively prioritize workload, and maintain a proactive and efficient approach /li /ulh3What we offer /h3ulliType of contract: Permanent /liliLocation: Milan, Hybrid /liliApplicable Collective Agreement: CCNL Gomma, Plastica, Cavi elettrici e affini.
