Purpose of the position

As a Metallurgy-Welding Engineer you will be part of the ENCAR Business line. You will deal with metallurgy and welding for onshore plants, offshore and floaters topside facilities and pipelines of Oil and Gas Industry, Refinery processes, Urea and Ammonia plants related to the metallic materials and associated fabrication process, through all their aspects providing specialized assistance and technical support on welding activities during fabrication and construction phases.

Responsibilities

- Engineering Support: Provide metallurgical and welding expertise to all engineering disciplines to meet contractual and technological standards.
- Tender & Requirement Evaluation: Analyze client and end-user tender documents regarding metallic materials and fabrication processes.
- Specifications & Standards Development: Prepare and update general welding specifications, PMI, NDT tables, and technical specs for special materials and consumables.
- Welding Documentation Review: Review and issue key welding documents (pWPS, WPS, PQR), repair/heat treatment procedures, and qualification matrices.
- Testing & Qualification Management: Define and witness trial tests, manage project welding qualifications (via subcontractors or direct hire), and supervise until the Welding Book is issued.
- Technical Liaison & Innovation: Collaborate with internal process departments, independent research bodies (TWI, EWI, IIS),



and vendors to monitor material performance and integrate new welding technologies.

Qualifications

- Education: Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
- Background: at least 5 years as a Welding Engineer role. International Welding Engineer (IWE) Certificate would be an asset as well as NDT certifications.
- Languages: Fluent written and spoken English; 2nd language appreciated.

Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of Metallurgy and basic corrosion. Welding processes, techniques, NDT principles and methods, International Standards (API, ASME, AWS, EN/ISO).

IT Knowledge: Office, CAD, Power BI and main software packages. Familiarity with databases and digital applications.

Travel: Some travelling will be expected worldwide – Availability to work abroad if required.
