PhD Position in Parkinson's Disease and Mechanobiology
Join the NEUROMECH Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network and pursue a fully funded PhD in Parkinson's disease using human iPSCs, brain organoids, CRISPR, mechanobiology, and functional genomics. We are recruiting a highly motivated PhD candidate to join Prof. Pier G.
Mastroberardino's research group at the University of L'Aquila (Italy). Our group investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying Parkinson's disease, with particular interests in genome maintenance, metabolism, cellular stress responses and neurodegeneration. Recent work from our laboratory has been published e.g. in Nature Aging, Nature Communications, and Cell Death & Differentiation.
What you'll do
Investigate how mechanical forces contribute to Parkinson's disease using state-of-the-art human disease models, including:
patient-derived iPSCs brain organoids CRISPR gene editing functional genomics transcriptomics Why join us?
Competitive Marie Skłodowska-Curie doctoral salary
International research secondments at leading European laboratories
Training in stem cell biology, mechanobiology, neurodegeneration, and functional genomics
Collaborative international research environment within the NEUROMECH consortium
Who can apply?
Applicants should have a background in neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biophysics or related disciplines.
MSCA mobility rule applies (see official call for details). Interested?
