An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Process Automation (PA) business unit for a Technical Project Leader with a strong interest in specializing in Process Automation project execution. Availability to travel up to 50% of working time (mainly within Italy but also abroad) is required to support customer‐facing activities, testing phase and on‐site coordination, and project execution. The successful candidate will be involved in all technical aspects of Process Automation projects, requiring frequent mobility to customer locations, suppliers, and project sites, working closely with Project Management and multidisciplinary teams.
Your Responsibilities The Technical Project Leader is responsible for planning, executing, and controlling technically complex projects, ensuring delivery in line with technical requirements, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives. He is a key stakeholder for the customer being the point of contact for Scheneider Electric regarding any technical aspect of the project. As a Technical Project Leader, you will: Collaborate with the Project Manager, sharing responsibility for project execution from a technical standpoint Act as the main technical point of contact for the customer's technical team, representing Schneider Electric on technical matters along all the project execution phases including testing, on‐site and remote project activities (not frequently).
Lead and coordinate a project team composed of internal and/or external resources often international. Support the selection of external resources by defining technical specifications for RFQs and contributing to the technical alignment of supplier quotations Validate system basic design and provide expert technical feedback, ensuring compliance with project requirements and Schneider Electric standards Define, review, and manage technical requirements to deliver efficient and effective solutions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Prepare and lead project meetings, technical reviews, and milestone discussions Coordinate hardware and software suppliers to ensure alignment with project schedules and control the progress of activities Be responsible for technical quality and compliance throughout the project, reporting progress and issues to the Project Manager Proactively identify and/or collect opportunities for variation orders together with the project team Manage change requests and assess impacts on cost, schedule, and scope Support project activities across multiple customer locations and supplier sites, ensuring technical alignment, quality,
and schedule adherence Promote compliance with HSE and safety policies throughout the project lifecycle Actively support Proposal and Sales teams during the offer phase for technically complex projects Build strong professional relationships within the team to foster a collaborative and supportive working environment and high team performance Build and maintain strong relationships with customers (internal and external) to ensure customer satisfaction and reinforce Schneider Electric brand reliability Listen to constraints and transform them into opportunities for continuous improvement Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, adapting communication to different audiences Qualifications We are looking for engineers motivated to build a career in Process Automation & Control with the following background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Automation Engineering, or High‐School Diploma in Electrical or related field Proven technical experience with PLC and/or DCS and/or SCADA systems Experience in software and hardware design for PLC and/or DCS systems Experience with Modicon and/or AVEVA and/or DCS and Safety technologies is considered a strong plus Experience with Digital Software Solutions is considered a plus Customer‐focused mindset, aiming to deliver effective solutions and high customer satisfaction Good written and spoken English, as projects are delivered in an international environment Strong interest in industrial automation, control systems, and programming Passion for innovation and continuous improvement Excellent communication skills in both Italian and English At Schneider, we believe that every employee is a talent who deserves equal opportunities.
