Overview The opportunity: Analyst / Associate, HSBC Infrastructure Finance EMEA team, Export Finance, Milan. Being part of HSBC in Italy, you'll help evolve and grow our business.
The global HSBC Infrastructure Finance (HIF) team, comprised of Infrastructure Finance and Export Finance, provides a full suite of financing solutions to corporates, financial sponsors, financial institutions and governments in a variety of sectors including Infrastructure, Transport, Logistics, Renewables and Power & Utilities.
The Export Finance team supports the cross‐border trade of capital goods and services by HSBC's clients using government support programmes administered by Export Credit Agencies (ECAs). It is a global team with presence in London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other locations in Europe and Asia.
What you will do As an Associate, you will join the HIF – Export Finance Europe team in Milan providing support across all sub‐sectors and teams in the origination and execution of financing transactions within the region and globally. You will also cover the SACE (Export credit agency) relationship and manage related transactions.
Support the Export Finance deal team leads on the origination, structuring and execution of tied and untied SACE‐covered transactions, including drafting and submitting SACE application forms, reviewing guarantee/insurance policies, and negotiating deal features.
Assist in execution of mandated transactions, providing documentation support and reviewing due‐diligence materials.
Create marketing materials such as pitch books, responses to RFPs,
and teaser documents.
Support structuring of ECA‐backed financing and analyse transaction risk allocation.
Manage internal approval processes, including conflict clearances, business approvals, transaction profitability calculations, capital allocation approvals, credit approvals, and environmental clearances as relevant.
Provide ongoing administration of the existing portfolio and meet management information requirements.
Qualifications Demonstrated experience in banking or corporate finance, with a record in export finance structuring and execution across a range of ECA products, particularly with the Italian ECA.
Strong understanding of banking and key financing/loan products, core credit analysis, and credit metrics.
Experience managing and coordinating workstreams for financing/transaction activities, and ability to review and summarise key due‐diligence elements of legal documentation.
High motivation and strong work ethic, with enthusiasm to learn about ECA financing products.
Proficient in English and Italian – spoken and written, at business level.
