Commitment & contract: Full-time internship within the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme for undergraduate students enrolled in a master’s degree programme; the position requires a time commitment of 40 hours/week (tempo pieno).

Location: Center for Cultural Heritage Technology, Roncade (Treviso), Italy

Duration: 6 months

Start date: 15/01/2027 (flexible)

Compensation: No salary granted by IIT (applicants must rely on funding from their University’s Erasmus+ programme)

THE ROLE

During your internship you will work on a project in the Cultural Heritage Technologies (https://www.iit.it/it/web/cultural-heritage-technologies) group, coordinated by Arianna Traviglia. This group focuses on Cultural Heritage Technologies: Automatic Document Analysis.

Your activity will comprise

- State-of-the-art models report preparation
- Data understanding
- Software development of automatic writer/hand identification

And will allow you to develop competences in

- Software management (e.g., Git use)
- Data preparation to train Deep Learning models
- Use of PyTorch and/or HuggingFace

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- To be registered as a student in an undergraduate master’s degree programme in Computer engineering, Computer Science or a cognate field of study for the entire duration of your stay at IIT
- To have a good command of spoken and written English
- To rely on funding from your University’s Erasmus+ programme
