Job Title: Travel Consultant

Position Summary

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Travel Consultant to join our team. You will be responsible for advising clients on travel destinations, planning complex itineraries, and making bookings for flights, accommodations, tours, and transport.

The ideal candidate has excellent geographical knowledge, strong sales skills, and a proven ability to handle last-minute changes with grace under pressure.

Key Responsibilities1. Client Consultation & Sales

- Engage with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, budgets, and purpose of travel (leisure, business, or group).
- Provide expert advice on destinations, cultures, weather patterns, visa requirements, and health/safety regulations.
- Upsell and cross-sell travel insurance, car rentals, excursions, and upgraded accommodations.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.

2. Itinerary Planning & Booking

- Design customized travel itineraries using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- Book and issue airline tickets, hotel reservations, rail passes, cruise packages, and tour activities.
- Secure the best available rates while adhering to client budgets and company profit margins.
- Ensure all bookings are confirmed, ticketed, and documented accurately.

3. Operational Support

- Process travel visas, passports, and travel insurance applications.
- Monitor travel regulations, entry requirements, and airline policy changes.
- Manage group travel logistics for corporate retreats, weddings,



or educational tours.

4. Problem Resolution

- Handle emergency travel changes, cancellations, and re-bookings 24/7 (as needed).
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during their travels to resolve issues regarding lost baggage, flight delays, or hotel overbookings.

5. Administration

- Maintain accurate client records within the CRM system.
- Process payments, issue invoices, and manage refunds/credits.
- Prepare travel documents, vouchers, and detailed itinerary packets for clients.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or Business preferred.
- Experience: [2-5] years of experience as a Travel Consultant, Travel Agent, or similar role.
- Certification: [Optional] IATA certification or CTA (Certified Travel Associate) is a strong plus.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in GDS (Amadeus/Sabre) is mandatory.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of fare rules, ticketing codes, and airline routing.
- Understanding of global geography and seasonal travel trends.

- Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and creatively when flights are cancelled or plans change.
