ph3Horticulture Supervisor – Northern Italy Sites /h3 pFor our Rome office (Testaccio), we are looking for a Horticulture Supervisor responsible for overseeing our sites across Northern Italy.
This role will ensure compliance with the Commission's horticultural standards while coordinating maintenance and development activities.
The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic, international environment, playing a key role in linking operational activities, project delivery, and relationships with local stakeholders.
/p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liEnsure compliance with the Commission's horticultural standards across assigned sites /li liPlan and carry out regular inspections at cemeteries and memorials, monitoring quality of works /li liCoordinate and supervise maintenance activities, ensuring efficiency and operational consistency /li liManage maintenance contracts and relationships with suppliers and contractors, including contract negotiation /li liSupport the planning and delivery of redevelopment projects and structural interventions /li liCollaborate with internal colleagues and stakeholders to ensure integrated site management /li liProvide technical guidance and share expertise with the local team (gardeners) /li liContribute to budget planning and monitoring of activities /li liPromote and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations /li liBuild and maintain relationships with local authorities, institutions, and partners to support the Commission's activities /li liContribute to the organization of commemorative events and official ceremonies /li /ul h3Candidate Profile – Essential Requirements /h3 ul liDegree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field,
or equivalent professional experience /li liAt least 5 years of experience in managing horticultural operations and staff across multiple sites /li liAt least 5 years of experience in supplier and project management /li liStrong organizational and planning skills /li liGood interpersonal and communication skillsProficiency in English and Italian (minimum B2 level) /li liWillingness to travel frequently and valid driving licence (Category B) /li /ul h3Desirable Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience in international or multicultural environments /li liKnowledge of sustainable landscape management and biodiversity /li liExperience in redevelopment or restoration projects /li /ul h3What We Offer /h3 pA role with tangible impact on sites of historical and cultural significance.
