Ansaldo Nucleare provides tailored design and engineering, manufacturing, assembly, testing, commissioning, on-site installation and integrated logistics services for all market segments in which it operates: New Builds, Fusion, Plant Operation Assistance, Decommissioning and Waste Management.

Posizione: Guarantee the development, optimization and technical validation of plant layouts and mechanical system arrangements for complex industrial facilities, including Nuclear Power Plants, process systems, brownfield installations, modularized solutions and existing assets to be modified, recovered or returned to service.

Identify fit-for-purpose technical solutions, integrating equipment, piping systems, structural interfaces, HVAC, EC&I; components, auxiliary systems and construction constraints, while ensuring compliance with functional, operational, maintenance, accessibility, constructability and safety requirements.

Main responsibilities * Develop plant layouts for Nuclear Power Plants, process systems and mechanical installations. * Define the arrangement of main plant equipment, mechanical components, piping systems, supports, HVAC ducts, EC&I; raceways, cable trays and auxiliary systems ensuring proper integration with civil works. * Develop piping layouts from P&IDs;, process requirements, equipment data, stress analysis inputs and construction constraints * Support piping support philosophy and layout choices by considering flexibility, thermal expansion, loads, restraints, structural interfaces and stress analysis requirements. * Support the design and integration of modular plant solutions, skids and prefabricated systems * Perform layout optimization considering constructability, operability, maintainability, accessibility, and safety requirements. * Perform fit-for-service assessments of existing plants,



systems, and installations to evaluate suitability for new operating conditions, plant modifications, life extension initiatives, revamping projects, and integration of new equipment. * Define Bill of Material for piping, supports (profiles, plates, anchors, etc.), HVAC ducts and electrical cable trays; * Support the on-site installation field engineering, construction queries, technical deviations and as-built documentation; * Coordinate mono-disciplinary working groups; * Manage the internal & external interfaces (stakeholders within the project delivery framework).

Requisiti: * Master Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear or Civil Engineering or equivalent * at least 5 years’ experience in mechanical components or layout design * Knowledge of: * plant components (condensers, pumps, cooling towers, valve, etc.), process fluid system packages and main electrical components layout needs; * plant or facilities 3D modelling (e.g., AVEVA E3D, Smart

Plant 3D, CATIA, Revit, Navisworks) /2D drawings (e.g., AUTOCAD) development including BIM methodology integration; * construction or manufacturing norms and standard (i.e., ASME, EN, ANSI, etc.); * knowledge of standard for safety application, environmental and/or seismic qualification and of EU Directives (e.g., Machinery, PED, ATEX). * Understanding of brownfield design constraints, including existing structures, operating plants, limited access, tie-ins, demolition,



revamping and phased construction. * Ability to evaluate existing plant installations and mechanical systems through fit-for-service assessments, considering operational requirements, maintainability, constructability, safety, layout constraints and interface management.

Familiarity with piping stress analysis and support design principles, including flexibility, thermal expansion, support positioning, loads and interaction with structures.

Strong interdisciplinary mindset, with the ability to understand and integrate inputs from process, piping, mechanical, civil, structural, HVAC, EC&I;, safety, construction and maintenance teams.

Experience in modularization, skid-based design, prefabricated systems and layout optimization for off-site fabrication and on-site assembly.

Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and relationship oriented; Capability to take initiative, with a proactive attitude and personal drive; Fluent in English language (spoken and written, fluent); Willingness to travel.
