ph3About the Company /h3pDeal is a world leader in the field of specialised equipment for bridge and viaduct construction and all associated engineering services. Deal equipment has been used in the construction of over 5.9 million sqm of decks all over the world with Deal's parent company executing directly roughly 2.5 million sqm of these. Deal provides services that range from conceptual and detailed design of pre-fabrication and erection systems, to the design and supply of specialised equipment such as launching trusses, straddle carriers, gantry cranes, casting machines as well as other custom lifting, moving and casting devices. Website: /ph3About the Role /h3pThe Design Engineer contributes to the successful delivery of DEAL's projects by developing safe, reliable and efficient mechanical and industrial engineering solutions for the Equipment Division, ensuring compliance with technical, contractual, quality and project requirements. The role supports both tendering and project execution by producing engineering designs and technical documentation, working closely with project teams and other disciplines to deliver technically sound, practical and cost-effective solutions aligned with project objectives, applicable standards and customer expectations. /ph3Responsibilities /h3h3Engineering Design Technical Development /h3pDevelop engineering designs and technical solutions in accordance with project requirements, applicable standards and Company procedures. /ppPrepare engineering calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications and other technical documentation required for tendering and project execution. /ppPerform engineering analyses and technical verifications to ensure the safety, reliability and feasibility of proposed solutions. /ppSupport the selection and optimization of engineering solutions to achieve technical performance, cost efficiency and constructability objectives.
/ppIdentify technical issues, design risks and non-conformities, proposing appropriate corrective actions and technical solutions. /ppContribute to the management of engineering changes by evaluating their technical impact and updating engineering documentation accordingly. /ph3Project Technical Coordination /h3pReview customer specifications, contractual documents and technical requirements to ensure compliant engineering solutions. /ppSupport tendering activities by providing technical inputs, preliminary designs and engineering evaluations for proposal development. /ppCoordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Business Development, Procurement, Production and other internal functions to ensure the effective development of engineering deliverables. /ppCollaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the integration and coordination of technical solutions across project activities. /ppSupport technical clarifications with customers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors during tendering and project execution, when required. /ph3Engineering Documentation Document Management /h3pEnsure that engineering documentation is accurate, complete, consistent and issued in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements. /ppMaintain engineering records, calculations and technical documentation within the Company's document management systems. /ph3Health, Safety Compliance /h3pEnsure compliance with Company policies, the Code of Ethics, applicable laws and regulations,
and Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) standards and requirements. /ph3Professional Development /h3pMaintain and continuously develop the technical and professional competencies required for the role through active participation in training, learning and development initiatives. /ph3Qualifications /h3pMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. /ppAt least 2-3 years of experience in mechanical and/or industrial engineering design, preferably in heavy equipment, steel structures or construction-related projects. /ppGood knowledge of structural analysis and engineering calculation principles. /ppProficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD). /ppGood knowledge of mechanical design, engineering drawings and applicable technical standards. /ppGood English knowledge. /ppStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical solutions and identify design risks. /ppAbility to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and effectively coordinate with internal functions, customers, suppliers and subcontractors. /ppProactive attitude, attention to detail and commitment to continuous learning and professional development. /ppPosition report to the Head of Engineering. Activities are mainly performed at our offices in Cargnacco (Udine), with occasional site missions. /ph3Pay range and compensation package /h3pAnnual base salary from 30,000€ to 40,000€ based on experience and qualifications.
