Background and purpose of the assignment

several factors such as climate change, pandemics and conflicts are exacerbating human suffering. humanitarian actors must embed sustainability in their interventions to reduce collateral damages, lower ghg emissions and increase the resilience of supply systems.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

identify and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders owning data and analyses, especially on esg and the environmental pillar. lead the technical aspect of wfp scope3 emissions accounting and support the corporate dashboard and targets for 2030 and beyond. conduct in‑depth research on trends and solutions to enhance supply‑chain esg sustainability. produce clear analysis documents outlining research conclusions and proposed implementation pathways. support other thematic areas in scdle, particularly those linked to ghg accounting. participate in the development, update and implementation of supply‑chain policies, guidelines, plans and procedures. analyze regional and country contexts to proactively mitigate dynamic supply‑chain challenges. plan and manage innovative supply‑chain initiatives in sustainability and resilience.



provide technical advice, identify improvement opportunities and share best practices with the humanitarian community. perform market analysis and supply‑chain network mapping to inform operation modalities. perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and experience required

- advanced university degree in supply chain management, engineering, economics, business administration, international development, relations or related field (or first degree with additional experience).
- proven experience working with diverse stakeholders and coordinating analyses.
- sound knowledge of the sustainable development goals and the un humanitarian architecture.
- experience with the un system, preferably wfp, and knowledge of wfp supply‑chain policies.
- experience with dots and internal wfp corporate systems (wings) is highly desirable.
- excellent planning, management, coordination, research and writing skills.
- ability to work independently under strict deadlines in a multicultural environment.
- languagesfull proficiency in english.
