We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer specializing in Cell Assembly processes to join our client, an established Battery company in Italy. In this role, you will be responsible for lithium-ion cell assembly process optimization including stacking/winding, welding, electrolyte filling, sealing, and inspection processes.
Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize battery cell assembly processes
Manage process parameters for: Stacking process, Tab welding, Electrolyte filling, Sealing process
Analyze process variation and improve process capability (Cp, Cpk)
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve yield
Analyze process data and identify opportunities for process improvement
Support process validation, qualification, and scale-up activities
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards
Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, PFMEA and process documentation
Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production and quality targets
Define and maintain process specifications and control plans




Perform root cause analysis
Lead equipment commissioning and qualification
Work with Quality, Production and R&D; teams
Manage data analysis for process correlation
Requirements:
3+ years' experience in lithium-ion battery electrode manufacturing
Experience with process improvement tools: SPC, DOE, FMEA* Bachelor's or master's degree in: Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Materials Science/Battery-related fields
Strong problem-solving capability
Experience in lithium-ion battery mass production environment
Knowledge of: PFMEA, 6 Sigma, SPC, 8D problem solving, Lean Manufacturing
Good communication skills in English
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Experience in battery Gigafactory ramp-up (preferred)
Experience with battery manufacturing projects (preferred)
Auto CAD, 3D modeling (preferred)
