Location: Italy – covering South Europe – Italy

Your Role

As a Project and Specification Manager specializing in Protective Coatings for the Civil Infrastructure sector, you play a pivotal role in contributing to the sustainable growth of PPG’s Protective Coatings Infrastructure business. We focus on safeguarding valuable assets such as data centers, battery manufacturing plants, road/rail bridges, and airport facilities exposed to various atmospheric conditions. Our mission is to protect these assets while ensuring a cleaner environment. Leveraging your deep market knowledge and our advanced product solutions, you will establish lasting relationships with key customers.

What We Expect From You Is To

- Develop durable customer relationships across all levels in the value chain.

- Gain expertise in the industry, our products, and tools to become the go-to coating advisor for your customers.

- Identify, support, and drive innovation in the market that enhances our customers’ sustainability and productivity.

- Execute Value Selling for our products and services to both new and existing customers.

- Ensure the achievement of short‑ and medium‑term sales and margin targets.

- Conduct impactful visits to key industry players, including owners, engineering/architects, and EPCs.

- Prepare Key Account plans and maintain your Projects pipeline in .

- Expand your internal network to learn, gain support, and accelerate your impact!

Responsibilities
Pipeline Management and Project Ownership

-

- Proactively identify opportunities within the Civil Infrastructure market segment.

- Research and gather leads from online databases, owners, EPCs, and key industry players.

- Maintain and nurture a pipeline that aligns with annual and quarterly sales budgets.

- Collaborate with the Segment Manager to select target and must‑win projects.

- Take ownership of projects/opportunities within your portfolio,



managing them until the contracting stage.

- Provide pricing recommendations to contractors.

- Play a crucial role in securing cross‑border project wins, working with global E&P; KAMs and peers in other regions.

Key Account Management (Non‑Buying Customers)

- Manage key accounts at industry players, including architects, engineering firms, and consultancies, primarily focusing on Europe within the EMEA region.

- Identify and prioritize key industry players in collaboration with the Segment Manager.

- Build relationships to increase PPG's impact in the value chain and expand our share at existing and new customers.

- Establish strong partnerships with key industry players, positioning PPG as a trusted advisor and project partner.

- Ensure PPG is on their approved specifications or work towards inclusion on these specifications.

Project/Opportunity Management

- Oversee projects/opportunities across the value chain, from planning to contracting stages.

- Ensure PPG is specified and approved as a supplier for relevant projects.

- Monitor project progress and transition phases, extracting information on the project's next steps.

- Identify downstream role players for potential contracting opportunities.

- Disseminate project stage progress information to the sales and other relevant teams.

- Lead the execution of project action plans.

- Conduct opportunity management operating cadence meetings for your projects and present them to segment management.

- Track progress, identify gaps, and resolve roadblocks.

- Collaborate with other functions to execute action plans and ensure successful project delivery.

- Adapt action plans to optimize the chances of project success.

What business skills and education do we expect from you

- Relationship Management: Ability to develop durable customer relationships across all levels in the value chain.

- Sales Skills: Proficiency in executing Value Selling for products and services to both new and existing customers.

- Project Management: Experience in managing projects/opportunities from identification to contracting stage.

- Account Management: Experience in managing key accounts at industry players, including architects, engineering firms, and consultancies.

- Communication Skills: Ability to disseminate project stage progress information to the sales and other relevant teams and lead the execution of project action plans.

Education Level

-

- At least a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is required.

- Experience in the Civil Infrastructure market segment would be beneficial.

- Familiarity with CRM tools like would be an advantage.

- Multilingual skills could be beneficial, particularly proficiency in English and other European languages.

What We Offer

Classification as an employee at a level (between level B2 and level A3) of the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Chemical‑Pharmaceutical Industry, gross annual salary (RAL) between €52,000 and €62,000 + variable premio of 40% upon achievement of objectives + welfare package + fringe benefits: Company Car, PC, Smartphone.
