Senior Specialist Legal Editor, Practical Law Employment Thomson Reuters – Rome, Lazio, Italy. Full‐time on‐site position.

About the Role As a Senior Specialist Legal Editor, you will use your technical expertise and substantial experience as a practicing lawyer in employment law and practice in Italy to create and maintain insightful and customer‐focused content for online publication, and to support the development of Thomson Reuters AI‐powered legal solutions.

Responsibilities Research, write and maintain clear, current, and practical legal content aligned with market practice and customer needs, and business objectives.

Review and edit content written by others, whether by colleagues or external expert contributors.

Keep up to date with legal, practice and market developments to ensure content remains accurate, relevant and aligned with business objectives.

Use legal expertise to support the development of customer‐focused Thomson Reuters AI‐powered legal solutions.

Use legal expertise and editorial skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools.

Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the legal market, our customers and their emerging needs, and competitors, including interacting effectively with customers, consultation boards and contributors.

Work with all parts of the business to deliver insight into business strategies, other products, sales, marketing, and technology development.

Attend training events, conferences and talks and otherwise network with customers, potential customers and industry leaders.

Help with the development of Practical Law Italy and, more generally, with the development of Practical Law.

Assist the wider Thomson Reuters team, working with product management, sales, marketing and technology functions where necessary.

Qualifications Italian qualified lawyer (bar)



with at least 5 years' post‐qualification experience in employment law in a law firm or in‐house in Italy.

Substantial experience of Italian employment law.

Excellent writing and communication skills in English, and a passion for writing about legal practice accurately, concisely and in plain English.

Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively independently and in teams.

Strong technical skills and ability to effectively utilise various tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space and new and emerging technologies.

Curious mindset, open to change and the increasing intersection of AI and legal practice.

Experience of using AI tools in legal work.

Excellent knowledge of online research databases.

Comfortable working with ambiguity and in a matrixed environment and proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with diverse teams.

Desirable Skills and Experience Proficient translation skills to effectively translate legal documentation from Italian to English and vice versa.

Education / Certification Must be Italian bar qualified.

Salary and Benefits Base salary range: €55,600 – €103,300 (Italy). May be eligible for an annual premio based on performance. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which includes flexible vacation, mental health days off, retirement savings, tuition reimbursement and other wellbeing programs.
