SAP Transportation Management Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Transportation Management Consultant to support a major SAP S/4HANA implementation and wider logistics transformation programme.

The consultant will take ownership of the SAP TM workstream, supporting the implementation of Basic Transportation Management functionality alongside several business-specific enhancements. The position will also involve contributing across SAP SD, MM and wider logistics processes.

This is an opportunity to join a long-term international transformation programme within a complex manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support the implementation of SAP Transportation Management within an SAP S/4HANA environment.
- Configure and optimise Basic SAP TM processes in line with business and operational requirements.
- Support the design of custom functionality relating to transportation planning, truck capacity and volume calculations.
- Work closely with SAP SD, MM and logistics teams to ensure effective end-to-end process integration.
- Support workshops, requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing and deployment.
- Provide functional support and incident resolution for existing SAP logistics processes.




- Support business users and operational teams located at the Italian sites.
- Act as a local SAP point of contact, capturing user issues and coordinating with the wider international SAP team.
- Produce functional documentation, specifications, testing scripts and training materials.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across transportation and supply-chain operations.

Required Experience

- Strong hands‑on experience with SAP Transportation Management.
- Previous experience delivering SAP TM within an SAP S/4HANA implementation.
- Good understanding of transportation planning, freight processes and logistics execution.
- Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP SD and MM.
- Ability to independently manage functional requirements from design through to deployment.
- Experience supporting testing, data validation, user acceptance testing and go‑live activities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work onsite near Milan for at least two days per week.
- Experience with SAP EWM.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, metals or cable‑production environments.
- Knowledge of truck‑loading, capacity planning or transportation‑volume calculations.
- Experience supporting international or multi‑site SAP programmes.
