Blue Oak Consulting
Milano
Our partner is a major automotive parts manufacturer where the complexity of supply chains and pricing structures requires constant oversight. The RPA Support Specialist helps maintain the automated workflows that keep our financial and operational analyses running for this engagement, ensuring the data we use to challenge corporate narratives is accurate and functional.
About Blue Oak Consulting
Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient.
Our team looks past corporate language and P&L; complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results.
We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction.
The Role In this role, you will be part of a distributed team working in a fully remote environment. Your primary focus is the technical health of the robotic process automation (RPA) tools used to extract and clean data for a large scale engagement with an automotive parts manufacturer. Because our firm relies on precise data to challenge corporate assumptions, even a small error in an automated script can lead to flawed conclusions.
You will monitor these processes daily, identifying where logic breaks down when it hits messy,
real world data sets. This is an entry level position designed for someone who enjoys technical troubleshooting and wants to understand how automation supports high stakes financial decision making.
What You Will Be Doing
- Monitoring active RPA bots to ensure they are completing data extraction tasks from client databases and internal systems.
- Troubleshooting errors when automated scripts fail to process specific data formats or encounter unexpected system changes.
- Updating existing automation workflows to reflect changes in how our automotive manufacturing partner categorizes its inventory or parts pricing.
- Testing the integrity of data outputs to ensure the numbers being fed into our financial models are accurate and complete.
- Documenting the logic behind specific automation steps so that the rest of the team understands how the data is being handled.
- Assisting in the deployment of new automation scripts that target specific areas of value leakage or capital inefficiency.
- Collaborating with senior advisors to explain technical limitations or suggest improvements to current data gathering methods.
- Reviewing daily logs to catch silent failures where a process runs but produces incorrect or incomplete results.
- Verifying that automated reports match the raw data provided by the client to maintain absolute data integrity.
What You Bring
- A degree or recent coursework in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field where logic and structured thinking are central.
- Basic familiarity with RPA concepts or tools, which could come from university projects, personal interest, or internships.
- Comfort with data structures and a solid understanding of Excel, including how to handle large datasets without losing track of details.
- A curious mindset that pushes you to figure out why a system is failing rather than just restarting it.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues to team members who are focused on the financial side of the business.
- The ability to work independently in a fully remote setting, staying organized and meeting deadlines without constant supervision.
- A healthy skepticism toward data, always checking for anomalies or patterns that do not make sense in the context of the project.
- Patience and persistence when dealing with repetitive tasks and the inevitable friction of complex manufacturing data.
What We Offer
- A fully remote work environment that allows you to contribute from wherever you are most productive.
- A competitive salary that is attractive for an entry level position in the automation and advisory sector.
- Direct access to firm principals, providing a chance to see how technical work directly influences major commercial decisions.
- Hands on experience with real world data challenges in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- A culture that values technical accuracy and honest reporting over corporate posturing.
- Mentorship from experienced professionals who prioritize clarity and financial discipline.
Working at Blue Oak Consulting means being part of a team that cares more about the truth of a spreadsheet than the polish of a presentation. We deal with real world friction and complex financial problems every day. For an RPA Support Specialist, this means your work is the foundation for everything else we do.
You will see how your technical maintenance leads to insights that change how a major manufacturer allocates its capital. We value the quiet diligence it takes to keep these systems running and the intellectual honesty required to report when things are not working as planned.
