Passive Thermal Control and Thermal Protection Subsystem and Hardware Engineer

In this Thermal Engineering role, you drive hardware-level cooling and thermal management for space systems. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to define thermal needs, develop simulations and hardware solutions, and validate performance against standards. You’ll tackle challenging thermal problems, contribute to testing campaigns, and push for robust, efficient cooling designs that enable reliable space operations. - Analyze and define thermal needs through simulations, models, and prototypes
- Formalise thermal specifications and architectural design for hardware solutions
- Identify and help resolve critical development issues
- Produce timely, technically accurate reports of findings




- Participate in thermal testing activities and correlate results
- Validate thermal compliance with group standards
- Design and develop cooling systems for reliability and potential design improvements
- Master of Engineering or Computer Science
- significant hardware development experience with a focus on thermal engineering
- strong mathematical, scientific, and computer science background
- proficiency with thermal tools and processes (Ansys Icepak, Ansys Fluent, Mentor Flotherm)
- knowledge of junction temperature, thermal resistance, electronics cooling
- experience with thermal tests (Temperature, Humidity, Salt fog, Pressure tests)
- able to multitask across several projects and meet deadlines
- customer-oriented mindset and rigorous analytical approach
