Experteer Overview
In this role you contribute to Thermal Control Systems for satellites, payloads, and units, spanning requirements, trade studies, and verification. You work under the Thermal Architect and across a multidisciplinary team to develop analyses, models, and test support. You will be exposed to the full lifecycle from concept to test and documentation, growing technical expertise in a cutting-edge space environment. This is a chance to shape thermal solutions for spacecraft and advance in a dynamic, learning-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of Thermal Control Systems for satellites, payloads and units
- Perform thermal analyses using ESATAN-TMS and Systema/Thermica at varying detail levels
- Build, maintain and update thermal mathematical models
- Carry out thermal analyses for on-ground and on-orbit temperature predictions
- Conduct trade-off investigations for thermal architecture definition
- Assist in defining interface requirements with other subsystems
- Contribute to identifying and implementing TCS design solutions
- Characterize and specify thermal hardware elements
- Produce technical documentation and reports on modelling and analysis
- Generate and correlate reduced thermal models
- Prepare thermal documentation including specifications, ICDs, budgets and verification reports
- Support thermal test definition and test predictions
- Support assembly, integration and test activities
- Participate in thermal test campaigns as conductor when needed
- Perform thermal model correlation based on test data
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of proven experience in thermal modelling and analysis, preferably in the space sector
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM; Master’s degree in STEM is a plus
- Familiarity with Systema/Thermica, ESATAN-TMS or Thermal Desktop
- Good knowledge of heat transfer principles
- Good understanding of mechanical and thermal design principles
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multicultural and technically complex environment
- Innovative mindset, curiosity and willingness to investigate new ideas
- Proactive attitude in overcoming technical challenges
- Strong teamwork skills
- Flexibility, initiative and sense of responsibility
- Proven ability to deliver results within schedule and quality constraints
