**University of Nottingham Italy (UNIT)** is a research centre established by the University of Nottingham UK and located in Naples. UNIT is working in synergy with Italian and EU partners on R&D; projects offering world-leading expertise and experience developed by the University of Nottingham’s academics and researchers in the field of **aerospace electrification**. Our key research focus is _net zero carbon aircraft_, achieved through the development of innovative aircraft electrification technologies. **Purpose of the Role**
- and mid-career researchers excited to contribute into this fast-developing area. In particular, we invite applicants who have experience and expertise in power-electronic based systems such as electric drives and power converters, including their design and optimisation, modelling and simulations, as well as their control.
- Master Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Information Engineering or in a very closely related topic;
- Good knowledge in electromechanical systems, including electric machines, power electronic converters and their control and optimisation;
- Excellent knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape software and related toolboxes;




- Good knowledge of aircraft electric power systems, their architectures and operation principles would be an additional advantage;
