This position is also financed by Asi - Agenzia Spaziale Italiana within the framework project ICE BLUE Isolation and Confinement Environment study in suBmariners and alliance crew as space anaLogues and microbial characterization of arctic sUb-surface Environments Cup: F33C25000550001.



Within the research team, your main responsibilities will be: - Design and conduct the experiments to identify the mechanism of piRNA biogenesis in neurogenesis and of their release in the extracellular environment
- Maintain and manipulate primary neural stem cells
- Isolate proteins and RNA from cells and various human biofluids
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary staff of IIT, draft reports, give oral presentations in lab meetings and Dept. Seminars **ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- A PhD in Neurosciences or Biomedical Sciences and a MSc in Biochemistry, Biology or similar disciplines
- Documented experience on analysis of large RNA seq. datasets (including bioinformatic skills, such as scripting in MATLAB or similar)
- Documented experience in Data mining and statistics.
- Documented experience in Primary cell culture preparation from rodent models and/or handling of human IPSC-derived neural stem cells/neurons
- Strong publication record on relevant topics
- Good command of spoken and written English **ADDITIONAL SKILLS**
- Ability to extract proteins and co-precipitate small RNAs (Piwi and/or Ago proteins) from mammalian cells/tissues
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
- Possess analytical reasoning skills and a growth mindset **COMPENSATION PACKAGE**
